Since 2009, Street Soccer Scotland has been delivering football themed personal development programmes for socially disadvantaged adults and young people across Scotland.
During that time, there has always been an ambition to do more. All of the programmes delivered by Street Soccer are delivered at third party venues, and we wanted to create a full-time home for our players and our partners.
As part of our planning, we created a number of feasibility studies and research workshops with our players and partner organisations, aimed at identifying ‘what works’ when addressing issues such as mental health, homelessness, substance misuse and general loneliness and isolation. The Change Centre is now fully equipped to tackle these issues, sitting in the heart of Dundee.
Open for use across the week, the Change Centre now proudly hosts Street Soccer sessions as well as offering the chance for the public to book the only indoor 7-a-side pitch in the city.
Our programmes are structured to provide hope and opportunity to our players.
With all sessions free of cost and open to all ages 16 and over, players can develop their skills both on and off the pitch.
Our women’s only programme, Street45, also takes place at the Change Centre, providing a safe space for players to interact with each other and engage in sport.
We also host youth football programmes every week, with a number of fantastic partners involved.
Using our education suite and community zones, we engage with our players across the week to focus on personal development.
The Change Centre proudly hosts a number of hot-desks for services across the city to use too. This means that our players can benefit from engaging with local partners without having to leave their community.
Workshops, training courses, events and more all happen in these spaces – and you can book in to them too.
All of our spaces are open to the public, creating a more inclusive community for everyone in the city.
We believe that everyone in Dundee should know about the Change Centre and how it can impact local communities.
By opening our doors to all those interested, we can create greater change by working with one another.
You can book our bespoke indoor pitch for evening or weekend bookings, it’s the only one of its kind in the city.
Something for the kids? We are now offering Kids Parties, which can also be booked online.
We also have a newly refurbished sensory room, which is available to book across the week.
