Street Soccer Scotland welcomed Scotland’s new First Minister, Humza Yousaf, to Change Centre yesterday to meet players and staff.
The FM’s visit to Dundee’s multi-purpose community hub helped highlight the power of sport and its role in creating a better future for Scotland.
Mr Yousaf joined in the football fun, whilst discussing our player pathway with inspiring players and volunteers as part of the wide-ranging programmes at the Change Centre.
Using lived experience and creating safe spaces, mean that Street Soccer can use the power of sport to tackle issues such as poverty, mental health, homelessness and more societal issues. By highlighting this work, we are able to work together in creating an approach which shares similar values and outcomes.
We were also joined by our employability partners, WorkingRite as part of a wider Social Innovation Partnership. Working together, as the same team, is crucial in creating a more positive and inclusive Scotland.
