Guest panelists added for Women Inspired

Street Soccer Scotland is set to host a special event celebrating International Women’s Day featuring a panel of inspiring women who are making waves in their respective industries. Women Inspired, will take place on Friday March 3rd at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

With thanks to the Scottish EDGE, a competition that supports Scotland’s emerging entrepreneurial talent, we will be welcoming panelists for the afternoon who will add a diverse range of perspectives and expertise to the event.

The three panelists are Dr. Antoinette Fionda-Douglas, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Beira, a sustainable luxury fashion brand; Jacine Rutasikwa, Co-Founder of Matugga Distillers, a rum distillery that uses ingredients from Africa and employs local agricultural workers; and Kerry Anderson, CEO and Founding Director of Brave Strong Beautiful CIC, a social enterprise hair and beauty salon that provides employment and mental health support for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Dr. Fionda-Douglas is an academic in fashion sustainability, and Beira won the Scottish EDGE Net Zero Award in December 2022. Jacine Rutasikwa has extensive international experience as a marketer and Matugga Distillers won a Scottish EDGE award in 2020. Kerry Anderson, a qualified counsellor and hairdresser, has over 20 years of experience training young people and Brave Strong Beautiful won the Social Enterprise EDGE title in 2020.

The event promises to be an insightful and inspiring conversation on the power of entrepreneurship and social enterprise to drive positive change, and tickets are still available to buy online, on the link below.
