Hanlon Stevenson continue to support Street Soccer youth work

Street Soccer Scotland are pleased to extend their partnership with the Hanlon Stevenson Foundation, with funding for Street Soccer’s youth programmes agreed for a further year until December 2022.

Hanlon Stevenson Foundation have been crucial to the delivery of free football sessions from Street Soccer across Edinburgh and the Lothians, with programmes popular with children across the city and beyond. This funding allows Street Soccer to carry on this work and reach even more young people.

Sessions allow Street Soccer players to develop communication skills, team-work and build relationships with experienced coaches, with fun and inclusivity at the core of every single session.

Running 50 weeks a year, Street Soccer sessions are safe and work alongside community partners to ensure that each and every player benefits from football-themed training.

Hibs players Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson started the charity in 2019

Street Soccer COO, Norman Gill said “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Hanlon Stevenson Foundation, Paul and Lewis have been supportive of our work for many years now and we have been able to build up our youth and schools work in Edinburgh with their help. The pandemic has made things even worse for young people with challenging home lives and at Street Soccer, with the help of HSF, we can provide positive role models, a safe space and above all fun!”

Hanlon Stevenson Foundation Chairman, Graeme Cadger said “We see first hand the outstanding work being done by Street Soccer across Edinburgh and the Lothians and are more than happy to extend our partnership with additional funding. Both Paul and Lewis take a keen interest in the Street Soccer players development and enjoy attending coaching sessions when their schedules permit. We have developed a strong bond with Street Soccer and look forward to collaborating with them on a few fundraising initiatives and other projects “
