Netherlands become ninth nation in Dundee

Street Soccer are pleased to welcome a men’s team from the Netherlands to the Street Soccer Nations Cup.

The players will be selected from the Life Goals Foundation’s programme based in Utrecht. Life Goals Foundation help vulnerable people at the edges of society integrate through sports. The foundation provides special sports programmes for people who have faced major negative life events.

The team will join Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Ukraine and Afghanistan as the tournament’s ninth participating nation.

The Street Soccer Nations Cup will take place at Caird Hall in Dundee.

Street Soccer CEO, David Duke, was pleased to get the Dutch team onboard.

“We were all gutted to find out this week that our friends from the Ivory Coast were unable to travel to the UK due to visa complications. They will be missed for sure and wish the players and staff all the best and hope to see them soon.

We have a long-standing relationship with Life Goals Foundation in the Netherlands and we’re really looking forward to welcoming them to be part of the Nations Cup.

We hope our guests from the Netherlands can have a positive experience in Scotland’s sunniest city, in what we hope to be a life-changing experience for all of the players involved.

The tournament will feature over 40 matches and is free to attend. The event site is open from Friday to Sunday, 10am through till 5pm, with live entertainment and activities for spectators of all ages.
