The Street Soccer team in Glasgow were delighted to be invited along to hospitality at Celtic Park last weekend for the Hoops’ 0-0 draw with Livingston.
A big thanks to our partners Stewart & Shields who hosted us as part of the Skybox experience at Scotland’s largest stadium. As part of the group, two new international players at Street Soccer attended what was their first ever football match.
After fleeing war-torn Eritrea, the duo found refuge in Glasgow and have since started playing with Street Soccer at Powerleague Glasgow. We were delighted to join the boys in what was an emotional day for all involved, with first class hospitality from our hosts in the lounge.

Street Soccer’s Michael Woods was part of the group on the day and was over the moon to see the reaction from our players, “It would bring tears to a glass-eye. I would definitely say they’re converted now to Celtic fans. I would like to give a special thanks to Murdo Macleod and his wife, who were amazing with our players on the day. This will be a day that we will all remember for a good while.”
Despite the result, the group were elated with their reception as part of the day. We’re glad to have these opportunities for our players and would like to extend our thanks to our partners who make days like these possible.
