STREET SOCCER GALA DINNER 2019

2019 is Street Soccer Scotland’s 10th Anniversary year and to mark this, our theme for the annual gala dinner was ‘The Power of Sport’.

In 2019 Street Soccer Scotland were delighted to welcome global sporting icon Francois Pienaar to Glasgow for our 3rd Annual Gala Dinner.

Following in the footsteps of Sir Alex Ferguson and Eric Cantona, Francois Pienaar joined us for our 3rd Annual Gala Dinner. 2019 is Street Soccer Scotland’s 10th Anniversary year and to mark this, our theme for the annual gala dinner was ‘The Power of Sport’.

Francois is a highly revered and successful businessman; respected television commentator and a passionate philanthropist. Adding to his many rugby accolades, Francois has been voted 50th in the top 100 greatest South Africans, was inducted into the International Hall of Fame in 2005 and honoured with a Steve Tshwete Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, awarded to a person who, for over 20 years or longer, has dedicated their life to make a difference in South African Sport.

Through Francois’ relationship with Nelson Mandela and profile as the captain of the South African rugby world cup winning team he was named a champion of inclusion after using his leadership skills to help unite South Africa through sport.

Special guests such as Susan Boyle, Des Clarke, Des McKeown, Clare English and David Tanner joined Francois for a night full of fun, entertainment whilst raising funds to support our players.

The Street Soccer Gala Dinner took place on the 9th October 2019 at the Hilton Glasgow.
