Street Soccer Scotland players in the Network Programme’s newest location were delighted to complete their SCQF qualification this past week for ‘Delivering an event as a team.’
Twelve candidates underwent 40 hours of training, shadowing and then delivering training drills over the course of six weeks, in partnership with Stenhousemuir FC and Warriors in the Community.
Taking place at Stenhousemuir FC’s excellent Ochilview Park, players from across Forth Valley and beyond were keen to take this opportunity to enhance their coaching and people skills.
Reece Robertson, who is first team kit-man at the League Two club, expressed how much of an impact the Street Soccer session had made to his overall skillset.
“I have coached previously but this was a fantastic refresher for me. Under the guidance of Stuart and Colin, we have really grown close as a group and to earn the accreditation this week is just the icing on the cake. I think the past six weeks has really helped me to improve my communication and how I deal with different challenges.”

Street Soccer player, Eddie Gray, engaged with the Network Programme for over 18 months through a weekly drop-in at Stirling and was pleased to be part of the new group in Stenhousemuir.
“As soon as I heard about the opportunity I was keen. The guys here are brilliant and overall I can’t thank Street Soccer enough for the impact it’s made on my mental health. My mind and fitness are now in a better place and I hope I can take what I’ve learned and give coaching a go in the future.”
Stuart Lovell, Network Programme Manager, was delighted with the development of the session at Stenhousemuir FC and the growing partnership with Warriors in the Community.
“All the staff at the Club have been very accommodating and the group has been very receptive to the ongoing work of Street Soccer Scotland. We really do feel that we can make a difference here in Stenhousemuir and with twelve candidates now achieving their SCQF Level 4, we are in a great place to create a weekly adult drop-in session for the local community to enjoy.”
