Support Street Soccer during Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week is Monday 15th to Sunday 21st of May and Street Soccer Scotland are partnering up with the Big Give for a unique matched funding opportunity.

During this week, for every £1 raised, the Big Give will double your impact and match the donation.

With over 2000 active players across Scotland, Street Soccer’s programmes are underpinned by mental health. As a player-led organisation, we always put a focus on improving the lives of others and with your help, we can help change more lives.

1 in 4 people Scotland experience issues with their mental health. Post-COVID, there is a growing mental health crisis for people of all ages in Scotland and this has meant there has been an increased demand on our support services. Working mainly with those experiencing social isolation, homelessness, substance misuse and an increased focus on work with refugees, a lack of accessible support services has meant that we have dedicated more focus on specific mental health and wellbeing projects.

We deliver a free trauma informed service, led by those with lived-experience that requires no referral and provides holistic support that is not time-limited. 96% of players think our service is unique and 89% say that our work has positively impacted their mental health. We use football as a connecting tool to bring people together, helping create hope, opportunity and promotes inclusion. Our team have a range of skills and experience which allow players to access support on & off the pitch.

You can support our work during Mental Health Awareness Week and double your impact during this opportunity. Let’s keep creating change, together.
